I was trying to put them in a larger pot and the pot was big but the opening to it was small. The tree pushed through the soil and broke the roots. Will my tree die or will it grow new roots?

In Palm Springs, California the temperature will at times get up to 120 degrees. It’s considered a desert climate. Can I grow an avocado tree and expect it to thrive and bear fruit?

I am transplanting Calif. yuccas to Zone 11 desert. We do get freezing temps in the winter. Will the yuccas live through the frost season. Any ideas? Also, I transplanted a succulent cactus. How about that?
