How do I edit my photos?

Well, I really want to go back to photography, but I love to learn how to edit my photographs. Not because they are disgusting or want to ruin the natural beauty of them, only to enhance them. Next month I'm getting a job, so I also I save a good camera for good. But I was thinking of buying the newest of Photoshop too. I currently have Photoshop 5.0, so is there any advice for me then? In landscape or on people. And what do you recommend Photoshop for photo editing? Thanks in advance. ~ Nicole.xx

I would concentrate on getting a better camera, for now, if you do not have lots of extra money around. If what you really want to improve your pictures without changing them radically, editing software needs to function well, for now. Simple editing is a relatively easy thing to do, however, becomes tedious and monotonous, sometimes. If you have any photos that you really like, just need a little improvement, its not usually a long laborious process, only a few minutes to rotate, crop, brightness, contrast, color. If they are pictures, a small place of publication and does not. You can get something like GIMP for free anywhere. Your software very functional and can not get cheaper than free. The best raw images, the less you have to edit. It seems simple words of wisdom, but true. Best of luck.
