watering lawn at night?
But why do people insist on telling people NOT to water at night?
If your lawn is dry, your soil is good, and your drainage is good, there is no reason why you can’t water at night successfully.
I lived in a climate where we got weeks of rain at a time ( at night even ) and I had a beautiful lawn with no problems. ( coastal area )
the fact is that millions of people do this and have no problems.
I have been landscaping for years and read countless articles and studies and more say it’s a myth than not.
and yes I do understand that the chances of problems can be increased because of a more favorable environment but, I still believe that it is mostly due to poor drainage and soil conditions.
I would like anyone to chime in on this. Web sites or studies appreciated. Maybe there are a few that I have not seen with good info. thanks so much
I actually think it is better to water at night personally, I water 1/2 as much and the plants and grass have a reasonable amount of time to rehydrate for the heat of the day and there not getting shocked by cold water hitting them when they have acclimated to the heat already. So I water at night but not allot and all if fine in my yard.

Printer/Mac is printing out my documents half landscape?
My Epson (stylus CX4450) and my Mac together are printing my Word Documents “half” landscape. In Word and Page Set Up, everything is normal… (Portrait, etc.) Print preview is correct. However when I print, it comes out Landscape booklet style. The first page is on the first half and the second page is on the second half…
Any idea how to remedy this? It seems to be a problem with my computer. My Dell is printing out fine.
Thank you!
Click on the PAGE LAYOUT tab. Then click on the little arrow in the corner to the right of “Page Setup”. Under the MARGINS tab, look for “multiple pages”. It should say “normal” in that box.

I want to learn more about video game 3d graphic design?
Hi, I’m 15 years old, I like to draw (mostly animals and portraits, but i want to get into landscapes). Recently, while playing an onlinne game, i thought what it would be like to be creator of those graphics. my mom gave me the idea of computer animation kinda stuff (she was talking mainly about disney and pixar, but she likes the video game design idea). Is anyone in this job, and what is it like? What should I do as a 15 year old to get into that sort of thing? What college should I go to? Thanks.
I don’t have a job doing it, but a few years ago I downloaded 3D studio max, and just learned the program by using it everyday, and learned a lot from tutorials. That is mainly how I got into doing it.

Can anyone help me with my painting?
My painting class has been assigned to do an abstract landscape/cityscape multimedia painting. The issue is, I can’t do abstract. Seriously. I can’t. I’m a stickler for detail and realism is my mojo. I consider myself a really good artist, but only when I do realism. I try to do abstract, and one of two things happens- 1. it turns into realism, or 2. it turns into crap. I think part of the issue is that I really don’t like abstract art at all, and because of it I can’t do abstract art myself because I feel like no matter what direction I take it’s going to be ugly by default (my opinion).
So my question is, what can I do to get around this block I have? In other words, how can I kind of twist the definition of abstract so it’s something I’d want to do? I was thinking about doing an abstract “idea” in a realistic style, like doing a fantasy world or something, but I think that’s cheating the system a bit too much. Any ideas?
I haven’t taken any painting classes (thanks to my school cutting our art budget), but last year we learned about mark making which resulted in some abstract art. One thing we did was when we practice water colors, we used pretty much anything but the paintbrush (twigs, q-tips, straws, etc). Another thing we did was held the medium with our teeth and tried to draw/paint like that.
I don’t know if you’ll get the work you’re looking for like that, but it’s at least an idea.
